The African Climate Change Fund (ACCF) was created to help Africa address the challenges of climate change and accelerate its transition to a low-carbon, resilient future. The African Climate Change Fund (ACCF) initiative of the African Development Bank Group is designed to triple climate financing for Africa and strengthen its climate resilience. By focusing on investments that build capacity and support resilient economic growth, ACCF helps communities become more resilient in the face of climate change. The ACCF provides financial support for strategic initiatives that support the African Development Bank Group’s goals of tripling its climate financing and advancing Africa’s climate resilience. Ireland and Austria have taken a significant step towards helping African nations in their efforts to combat climate change. By joining the African Development Bank’s Africa Climate Change Fund (ACCF), with contributions of €2 million from Ireland and €1 million from Austria, both countries have demonstrated their commitment to fighting climate change on a global scale. The ACCF has significantly contributed towards building capacity for accessing international climate finance, enabling African countries to leverage resources from various sources, including private sector investments, international organizations, and philanthropic contributions.
