Exchange Fund Bills Tender Results
On 21 May 2024, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) conducted two tenders for EF Bills. The first tender, with issue number Q2421, was for HK$128,400 million worth of bills with a maturity date of 21 August 2024. The amount allotted was HK$62,151 million, with an average yield accepted of 4.40% and a highest yield accepted of 4.50%. The pro rata ratio was about 37%.
The second tender, with issue number H2450, was for HK$45,383 million worth of bills with a maturity date of 20 November 2024. The amount allotted was HK$15,000 million, with an average yield accepted of 4.34% and a highest yield accepted of 4.41%. The pro rata ratio was about 81%. Looking ahead, the HKMA has announced three upcoming tenders for EF Bills in the week beginning 27 May 2024. On 28 May 2024, there will be tenders for issue numbers Q2422 and H2451, with maturities of 28 August 2024 and 27 November 2024, respectively. The amounts on offer are HK$62,488 million and HK$15,000 million, respectively. On 31 May 2024, there will be a tender for issue number M2406, with a maturity date of 3 July 2024 and an amount on offer of HK$800 million.
