BNP Paribas Asset Management Launches Global Equity SRI PAB ETF, Expanding Climate Fund Range
BNP Paribas Asset Management has announced the listing of a new global equity exchange-traded fund (ETF) that expands its current SRI PAB (Paris Aligned Benchmark) range, which has over EUR 6.5 billion in assets under management. The new fund, BNP Paribas Easy MSCI ACWI SRI S-Series PAB 5% Capped UCITS ETF, began trading on May 21 on several European exchanges. The fund aims to track the performance of the MSCI ACWI SRI S-Series PAB 5% Capped Index, providing investors with exposure to companies with high environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards, while also meeting the Paris Aligned Benchmark targets for reducing greenhouse gas intensity.
The new ETF is classified as Article 8 under the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), meaning it promotes environmental and/or social characteristics. It excludes companies with high negative ESG impact and invests a minimum of 35% of its assets in sustainable investments, while maintaining a low tracking error compared to the underlying index. The strong growth in assets invested in the Net Zero 2050 theme, which includes PAB ETFs, demonstrates the market’s increasing appetite for climate-focused investment products.
