Fraudulent website and email domain purportedly associated with Insurance Authority

The Insurance Authority (IA) alerted the public to a fraudulent website and email domain purportedly associated with the IA on 12 June 2024. The IA has recently received public enquiries about suspicious emails from a fraudulent email address “support@ia-org[.]com”. The sender claimed to be an employee of the IA. An IA spokesperson stated that the IA’s official email domain is “@ia.org.hk” and its official website is www.ia.org.hk. The fraudulent email address “support@ia-org[.]com” and website “www[.]ia-org[.]com” have no connection with IA.
