The Insurance Authority (IA) has warned the public about fraudulent payment requests falsely claiming to be from the IA. These bogus invoices, titled “Insurance Authority Certificate” or “Capital Insurance Certificate,” have been circulating with fake IA details and stamps. The IA confirmed it does not issue such invoices or certificates and has reported the matter to the Hong Kong Police Force.
Members of the public are advised to verify any suspicious payment requests by contacting the IA directly through its hotline. Suspected scams should be reported to the police.
