Former staff of frozen meat supplier charged by ICAC for allegedly concealing his operation of same business and deceiving employer into selling goods valued over $5m

On August 13, the ICAC charged Cheng Ming-lim, a former Senior Sales Executive at H.R. Woodward Food Service Co. Limited, with fraud. Cheng is accused of concealing a conflict of interest by operating Andreessen Food Service Company Limited and inducing H.R. Woodward to sell goods valued over $5 million to Andreessen. Cheng, who had the authority to set prices and terms at H.R. Woodward, is alleged to have misled his employer while failing to disclose his involvement with Andreessen. The case, which involves unpaid amounts of around $2.71 million, will be heard at the District Court on August 15. H.R. Woodward cooperated fully with the ICAC investigation.
