HZMB shuttle bus casual worker charged by ICAC gets 10 weeks’ jail for soliciting bribes from tourists

A casual worker from Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Shuttle Bus Company Limited (HZMBus), Ng Kwong-lung, admitted in court to soliciting and accepting a bribe to assist two tourists who lacked valid tickets for a shuttle bus during the pandemic. Ng, 36, was sentenced to 10 weeks in prison for violating the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance. He was also ordered to pay HK$540 to HZMBus. The court emphasized that his actions damaged Hong Kong’s international reputation and were a serious breach of integrity.
