ICAC Three-Runway System Project’s sub-contracts bribery cases: Ex-AAHK Principal Manager admits $3.3m bribery and money-laundering

Ricky Lee Wing-fai, former Principal Manager of the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK), has admitted to accepting bribes totaling about $3.3 million and laundering $5.7 million in connection with the Three-Runway System Project. Charged with multiple counts of bribery and money laundering, Lee was responsible for overseeing contracts related to the project. His admissions include accepting $2.5 million from a subcontractor for favoring them in contract awards and $800,000 from a supplier for securing purchase orders. The case involves several other defendants, including former AAHK staff and subcontractors, with further proceedings scheduled for September 12 and a separate trial set for June 2025. The ICAC continues to investigate and combat corruption to ensure transparency and integrity.
