A former manager of Johnson Electric Group, Seh Yat-wing, was sentenced to 54 months in prison for defrauding the company by concealing his and his family member’s interest in a supplier, Eaton Enterprise Limited. Between 2010 and 2017, he facilitated over 1,300 purchase orders worth more than $70 million with Eaton, profiting nearly $7.4 million. Seh’s actions breached the company’s conflict of interest policies and trust. The ICAC, which initiated the investigation following a corruption complaint, emphasized the importance of clear conflict-of-interest guidelines and timely declarations in business organizations to prevent similar misconduct.
