Qatar Launches Green Bonds Trading on London Stock Exchange
Qatar’s Ministry of Finance debuted its first green bonds on the London Stock Exchange (LSE), reinforcing its commitment to financing environmentally friendly projects and supporting sustainable development. The bonds, issued in May 2024, aim to fund initiatives aligned with global environmental priorities. During the LSE’s Ring the Bell event, Minister of Finance HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari emphasized the significance of the listing in advancing Qatar’s sustainability goals and strengthening economic partnerships with international financial institutions. This move positions Qatar as a key player in the global push toward a low-carbon economy and sustainable investment.
