A former team leader of a subcontractor for the Three-Runway System (3RS) Project at Hong Kong International Airport was charged by the ICAC on January 15, 2025, for allegedly soliciting a daily bribe of $100 to $200 from a crane operator to secure continued employment. Hui Wai-kwok, 38, then employed by New Ocean Machine Co., Limited, faces one charge of agent soliciting an advantage under the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance. The alleged solicitation occurred in December 2022, but the worker, earning a daily wage of $1,400, refused to pay and later resigned. New Ocean, which prohibits soliciting or accepting bribes, fully cooperated with the ICAC investigation. Hui has been released on bail and will appear in court on January 17.
