HKEX to Introduce New Stock Option Classes

On February 28, 2025, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) announced six new stock option classes to be launched on March 17, 2025, following a successful 2024 where the derivatives market saw a 15% increase in average daily volume, reaching a record 1,550,593 contracts. The new options include Midea Group (MDG), China Resources Power Holdings (CRP), Hua Hong Semiconductor (HOS), China Hongqiao Group (CHQ), Haier Smart Home (HES), and New Oriental Education (ORT).
