Circular to applicants seeking SFC authorisation of unit trusts and mutual funds – Formal adoption of Fund Authorisation Simple Track (FASTrack)

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) announced the formal adoption of the Fund Authorisation Simple Track (FASTrack) starting May 5, 2025, following a successful six-month pilot. Launched on November 4, 2024, FASTrack facilitates the authorization of simple funds from MRF Jurisdictions, aiming to complete applications within 15 business days to enhance efficiency and competitiveness in Hong Kong’s asset management sector. Feedback from applicants has been positive, and the SFC successfully authorized all eligible fund applications within the targeted timeframe. The SFC will continue to monitor and improve FASTrack as needed. For clarifications, applicants are encouraged to contact their case officers.
