HKMA and Cyberport launch second cohort of GenA.I. Sandbox to accelerate A.I. innovation in financial sector

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and Cyberport have launched the second cohort of the Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenA.I.) Sandbox to foster A.I. innovation in the financial sector. This initiative provides banks with a risk-controlled environment to develop and test A.I. solutions, building on the success of the first cohort that began in January. Key enhancements include the introduction of the GenA.I. Sandbox Collaboratory, which will host workshops to help banks and technology providers collaborate on practical use cases, including a focus on combating deepfake scams. The initiative aims to advance responsible A.I. innovation and explore integrating A.I. into risk management strategies. The announcement was made during the FiNETech5 event, which gathered over 150 A.I. professionals to discuss insights and developments in the field.
