Credit Card Lending Survey Results for First Quarter 2025
On May 15, 2025, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority released the credit card lending survey results for the first quarter of 2025, indicating a 5.8% decrease in total card receivables, bringing the total to HK$152.8 billion by the end of March. This decline followed a 7.9% increase in the previous quarter, attributed to festive spending and salary tax payments. The combined delinquent and rescheduled ratio rose slightly to 0.42%, up from 0.40% at the previous quarter’s end, while the quarterly charge-off ratio increased to 0.61% from 0.57%, remaining at a low level overall.
