SFC and Laos senior regulators meet in Hong Kong

On May 20, 2025, the Chief Executive Officer of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), Ms. Julia Leung, and senior executives met in Hong Kong with a delegation from the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, led by Mrs. Phengsy Phengmuong, Secretary-General of the Lao Securities Commission Office, and Mr. Siosavath Thirakul, CEO of the Lao Securities Exchange. The meeting focused on sharing updates about their financial markets and discussing capital market development strategies. The Lao delegation also participated in technical sessions covering topics such as SFC’s strategic priorities, supervision of listed companies, sustainable finance, and investor education.
