The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has suspended the licence of Mr Tang Wai Choi, a former licensed representative of Shanxi Securities International Limited (SSIL), for seven months. The disciplinary action follows an SFC investigation which found that between July and December 2019, Tang improperly accessed a client’s securities account and placed 945 orders via the internet without obtaining valid written authorization from the client. Additionally, Tang failed to maintain proper records of the client’s order instructions, thereby obscuring the true origin of the trading activities and compromising the integrity of the audit trail.
