As of the end of March 2023, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has disclosed that Hong Kong’s official foreign currency reserve assets totaled US$430.7 billion, which is an increase from US$429.1 billion recorded in February 2023. The foreign currency reserve assets, which include unsettled foreign exchange contracts, amounted to US$430.3 billion. These reserves are equivalent to over five times the currency in circulation or approximately 41% of Hong Kong dollar M3.
