Website and Email Alert – Fraudulent website and phishing emails related to Tai Sang Bank Limited

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has issued an alert to the public regarding a fraudulent website and phishing emails associated with Tai Sang Bank Limited. The HKMA has provided a hyperlink to the press release issued by Tai Sang Bank Limited on the HKMA’s website. The HKMA also reminds the public that banks will not send SMS or emails with embedded hyperlinks directing customers to the banks’ websites to conduct transactions. Additionally, banks will not request sensitive personal information, such as login passwords or one-time passwords, via phone, email, or SMS, including through embedded hyperlinks. Individuals who have provided personal information or conducted financial transactions through the fraudulent website or emails should contact the bank using the contact information in the press release and report the matter to the Hong Kong Police Force’s Crime Wing Information Centre.
