In reference to the circular dated 15 July 2024, concerning the implementation of Severe Weather Trading (SWT) in Hong Kong’s Securities and Derivatives Markets, a Practice Session (PS) will be held on 24 August 2024 for Clearing Participants (CPs) to test their systems and operational setups under SWT conditions. Participation is optional, but CPs are encouraged to join. Interested CPs should register by 16 August 2024, and a detailed activity rundown will be sent by 21 August 2024. The session for both the derivatives and securities markets will occur on the same day. Additionally, all CPs must declare their readiness for SWT by completing a form on the HKEX website and submitting it via the Electronic Communication Platform by 30 August 2024, unless they are part of an assistance scheme.
