The Standing Committee on Company Law Reform (SCCLR) released its 2023-24 annual report, highlighting its consultation with the government on promoting paperless corporate communication for Hong Kong companies. The SCCLR also conducted a seminar on company re-domiciliation. The government, acknowledging the SCCLR’s input, is drafting an Amendment Bill aimed at this initiative to be presented to the Legislative Council within the year. Established in 1984, the SCCLR advises the Financial Secretary on corporate governance and related legislative amendments, and its report is available for public viewing on the Companies Registry website.
