Two Police Sergeants charged by ICAC for allegedly concealing debts in service extension application and swindling credit union loans over $590,000

On October 15, the ICAC charged two police sergeants, Kwan Ka-chun and Lam Kong-lung, with making false declarations about their personal debts while applying for an extension of their retirement age. They allegedly defrauded the Hong Kong Police Credit Union (HKPCU) of over $590,000 through multiple loan applications, falsely stating they had no outstanding debts and concealing their bankruptcy histories. Both defendants face several counts of fraud and are out on bail, with a court appearance scheduled for October 17. The ICAC emphasized the importance of integrity and adherence to laws for civil servants.
