AFRC issues 2023-24 Annual Report

The Accounting and Financial Reporting Council (AFRC) has released its 2023-24 Annual Report, detailing its achievements from April 2023 to March 2024. The report emphasizes the AFRC’s effectiveness in regulatory outcomes through its five pillars: Dialogue, Understanding, Collaboration, Law and Governance, and Thought Leadership. The organization has balanced its roles as an independent regulator and market promoter, engaging over 11,700 stakeholders to enhance awareness and develop sustainable accounting policies. CEO Janey Lai highlighted the importance of constructive dialogue, while Chairman Dr. Kelvin Wong underscored the AFRC’s commitment to high standards and its role in maintaining Hong Kong’s status as a leading financial center.
