Enhanced Competency Framework on Green and Sustainable Finance (Professional Level)

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has launched the Professional Level of the Enhanced Competency Framework on Green and Sustainable Finance (ECF-GSF), aimed at middle and senior-level banking practitioners. This level builds on the Core Level introduced in July 2023 for junior staff, providing specialized knowledge and competencies in green and sustainable finance. The updated Guide to the ECF-GSF details the framework, certification, qualification structure, and continuing professional development (CPD) requirements. Authorized institutions (AIs) are encouraged to adopt the framework to enhance staff competence and support their development through training and certification. The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) will oversee certification, training, and CPD processes.
