Insurance Authority hosts Insurance-linked Securities Conference

On May 30, 2025, the Insurance Authority (IA) hosted the second Insurance-linked Securities (ILS) Conference, drawing around 100 attendees from the insurance and investment sectors worldwide. Mr. Stephen Yiu, Chairman of the IA, highlighted the event’s purpose of promoting ILS as an alternative risk transfer tool and enhancing understanding of its investment potential. The conference included two panel discussions on the ILS ecosystem’s current landscape and investment strategies, along with breakout sessions. The IA aims to develop a comprehensive ecosystem for data harvesting, risk modeling, product innovation, and talent development to strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a global risk management hub.
