HKEX Hosts Climate Finance Forum, Shaping Future Landscape of Environmental Markets

On September 10, 2025, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) hosted the Climate Finance Forum, focusing on the critical role of climate finance in mobilizing capital for a net-zero future. The forum, part of Hong Kong Green Week, attracted over 200 participants, including industry leaders and sustainability experts. HKEX CEO Bonnie Y Chan emphasized the importance of climate finance as a catalyst for addressing climate change and unlocking investment opportunities. During the event, HKEX launched “Carbon Credits: A Buyer’s Guide,” aimed at helping companies understand and select carbon credits that align with their sustainability goals. Paul Chow, HKEX Group Chief Sustainability Officer, noted the platform’s commitment to supporting the green transition by facilitating informed decision-making in carbon credit investments. The forum also highlighted HKEX’s Core Climate marketplace, which enables organizations to purchase and manage carbon credits, and announced HKEX’s achievement of carbon neutrality across its operations by the end of 2024, showcasing its dedication to the global net-zero transition.
