SFC furthers Hong Kong-Saudi Arabia capital market ties on Riyadh visit

Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) CEO Julia Leung and senior delegates recently visited Riyadh to enhance regulatory collaboration with Saudi Arabia’s Capital Market Authority (CMA) and Saudi Tadawul Group. They witnessed the cross-listing of two Hong Kong exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on the Saudi Exchange, marking a significant milestone in capital market ties between the two regions. The visit, part of a larger Hong Kong delegation led by Financial Secretary Paul Chan, focused on Hong Kong’s role in connecting Saudi investors to Asian markets. Additionally, the SFC co-hosted an industry roundtable to discuss asset management opportunities and unveiled a guide to help Hong Kong fund managers navigate the Saudi market landscape.
