SFC warns public of Linkbex for suspected virtual asset-related fraud
The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has issued a warning regarding Linkbex, an entity suspected of engaging in virtual asset-related fraud. Linkbex falsely claimed connections with seven licensed corporations in Hong Kong, leading to investor reports of locked accounts due to alleged “anti-money laundering investigations” by the SFC. In response, the Hong Kong Police Force has taken measures to block access to Linkbex’s website, which has also been added to the SFC’s Suspicious Virtual Asset Trading Platforms Alert List. The SFC advised the public to remain cautious of online investment scams, which can lead to significant financial losses.
