Upcoming TV drama series IA Files to illustrate Insurance Authority’s regulatory and enforcement efforts

On September 23, 2025, the Insurance Authority (IA) announced the upcoming premiere of “IA Files” (“保監有道”), a new four-episode TV drama series co-produced with Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) that will air on RTHK TV31 starting September 27, 2025. The series, inspired by real-life cases, aims to enhance public understanding of the IA’s regulatory, investigative, and enforcement functions while promoting educational messages about insurance. Maria Tsui, Head of Enforcement at the IA, emphasized that the show seeks to clarify the IA’s work and empower the public to protect their rights. The drama will address real complaints and issues such as misrepresentation, unlicensed selling, and customer treatment, reinforcing the importance of fairness in the insurance industry. Amy Kwong from RTHK highlighted the goal of presenting complex insurance topics in an engaging and relatable manner. The show will air Saturdays at 7 PM and will also be available for streaming on the RTHK website, mobile app, and later on the IA’s YouTube channel.
