The circular from April 3, 2023, provides information about the upcoming launch of Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to replace the existing smartcard for terminal access to CCASS. The successful completion of briefings for the launch of 2FA preparation has been announced, and the official launch is tentatively scheduled for June 12, 2023, subject to regulatory approval. To facilitate a smooth transition, CCASS Participants (CPs) and Designated Banks (DBs) are advised to review the “Information Package for Launch of 2FA” and the updated CCASS Terminal user guide. Additionally, a post-release connectivity test will be available on June 10, 2023, for interested parties to conduct a connectivity verification. Interested CPs and DBs should register for the test via the Event section in Client Connect on HKEX Access Management Portal before June 2, 2023. To secure account readiness for migrating to 2FA, CPs and DBs who have not yet registered their email addresses for users and DAs should take immediate action.
