The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) announced the winners of its 25th Best Corporate Governance and ESG Awards, recognizing a record 38 companies and public sector organizations for their excellence in corporate governance (CG) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. This year saw five first-time awardees and three new winners of the top-level Most Sustainable Companies and Organizations (MSCO) Awards. HKICPA President Roy Leung emphasized the growing integration of CG and ESG into business strategies, while calling for more focused efforts on areas like risk management, diversity, and IT and cybersecurity governance. The Awards also highlighted the need for companies to enhance social and environmental disclosures, especially regarding employee wellbeing and carbon emissions. Additionally, HKICPA’s ongoing work on sustainability disclosure standards aims to help Hong Kong companies meet international ESG reporting requirements.
